Catfe offers up catpuccinos, cat-themed treats, cat supplies and meowchandise, all in the company of adoptable rescue cats.
Catfe is Vancouver, BC’s original cat cafe, established in 2015 and located on the second floor of International Village Mall (aka ‘Tinseltown’ Mall), where Chinatown meets Gastown. We are partnered with various animal rescues and their teams of fosters and volunteers to help adoptable rescue cats from all over Canada find loving homes. We have around 20 to 25 cats in the lounge at any time, with lots of kitties getting adopted and more newbies arriving each week.
Our cat cafe is both a temporary foster environment for rescue cats in search of their forever homes, and a welcoming space for cat lovers in need of some animal therapy. Enjoy cat-themed drinks and snacks, browse our shop full of fun meowchandise and supplies for your cat, and make some new feline furriends! One of North America’s first cat cafes, Catfe has found homes for over 1500 cats since opening in December 2015.
OUR RESCUE MISSION
Catfe covers the costs of food, litter, transportation, bedding and toys for the cats in our care, and a portion of our proceeds goes toward costs of vet bills to ease the burden on our rescue partners. As space allows, we take in owner surrenders and cover their vetting, including medical exams, spay or neuter if needed, vaccinations, deworming and flea treatment, or get them the help they need through one of our trusted partners.
Our team of Cat Whisperers works closely with each and every one of our cats, giving daily health checks and administering medications as needed, ensuring each one's personal needs are met, helping them to feel safe and grow confident and ready for adoption, interviewing applicants and matching them with each cat's unique personality.
THE BUNNY CAFE
Catfe’s unique cat cafe model works so well, that we opened a sister cafe in Vancouver in June 2021 to provide a sanctuary and help find homes for rabbits in need!
